How does the free tier work?

For select configurations shown on the pricing page, you get your first 720 hours and 10GB of bandwidth for free, once for the lifetime of your account. This a one-time free tier and does not replenish every month. 

Once the free tier is exhausted, any running clusters will start incurring charges. If you intend to use Typesense on production, we highly recommend that you add a payment method to your account as soon as possible to prevent service interruptions.

In full transparency, as much as we'd like to offer an unlimited free tier as is the norm with SaaS companies, we're unable to do that in our case since we spin up dedicated nodes for each cluster you spin up, even the free ones. These nodes have infrastructure costs associated with them that we are unable to subsidize over long periods of time, especially as a bootstrapped company.
